Following on from an absolutely dreadful number of fatalities and serious injuries caused by a minority of this breed in the past couple of years, the Government has decided to ban them. I don’t intend to go into the rights or wrongs of the decision, but whilst we know that the Pit Bull ban has hardly been a total success, something clearly had to be done.
The XL Bully has been responsible for over half of all human fatalities in the UK in that time, despite representing only a tiny percentage of all dogs.
Due to concerns over insurance cover and also ethical concerns over working with a breed which has been placed on the banned list, we will unfortunately no longer be able to offer our dog behaviour or dog training services to the owners of the XL Bully type.
We recognise that many of these dogs are perfectly sociable animals and many of the owners are totally law-abiding and responsible. Sadly, as always in most aspects of society, the conduct of a minority affects the majority.
